CONVERSION OF DUAL-SIM INTO E-SIM

eSIM is a global specification by the GSMA which enables remote SIM provisioning of any mobile device.

Soon, a good number of e-sim supporting devices or handsets will hit the market with ultimate craze, as Internet search giant Google has announced that it is now rolling out e-SIM support for latest handsets termed as Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Apart from rolling out e-SIM support for various handsets, Google also said that it will create a program that will allow other Android device makers to build an e-SIM-capable smartphone in order to enable "a consistent and simple experience across the ecosystem.”
The company revealed that this e-sim support will be rolled for Airtel and Reliance jio for Pixel-3 soon. Though the country's’ largest telecom operator, Vodafone-Idea is still not supporting this feature, Airtel and Reliance Jio have already provided this facility to the latest iPhone lineup, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. 
Starting from Dec 4th 2018, all the US customers of Pixel will have the availability or e-sim facility in their newly purchased phones. US customers who want to purchase a phone with e-sim facility can approach Google Fi or the Google Store.
various other countries that support Truphone and Gigsky like Germany (Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone), UK (EE) will soon get e-SIM support for latest Pixel handsets apart from India. "With e-SIM, we hope to bring you instant connectivity across the more carrier networks, and devices in the Google ecosystem from Android smartphones to Chromebooks to Wear OS smartwatches," said Google. 
Presently, Airtel is offering the e-SIM facility only to its postpaid subscribers while Reliance Jio offers e-SIM supports or offers for both prepaid and postpaid subscribers. 
There is no Airtel plan with e-SIM support for prepaid subscribers yet. Users also have an option of converting their regular SIM number into e-SIM. For example, if they have Airtel postpaid and a Vodafone SIM, they can convert the Airtel number into e-SIM in order to use it as the secondary number on their new iPhones while inserting the physical SIM of Vodafone in the device.
