GOOGLE GIVES THE POWER TO THE PARENTS TO CONTROL THEIR KIDS
Using gadgets in this generation is
something which we can never overlook moreover, children eventually got adapted
to the usage of every gadget that too with no time limit. They spend a ton of time
on them either playing or reading books. Children usually do not want their
gadgets to take back while using as they enjoy it. To prevent the usage of
gadgets such as laptops for a long time, Google has introduced extra controls
into its Chromebook laptops where parents can take over the control of their
children by setting the screen time limits and bedtime hours, remotely lock
devices and monitor app usage.
Before this, Google has launched the
Family Link App in 2017 to help the parents know everything about how their
children are using the Android devices.
In a recent blog post by Google, it was
said that the family link features app can help their parents to have a control
over their by changing the settings, managing the apps kids can download and
more. According to the company, just over 50 percent of kids between 6-12 share
or own a laptop. It was also said that this Family Link App can give the
authority to the parents to make some digital ground rules as kids are trying
to explore online in the Chromebook. It also offers the parents and kids to
know the time they spent on their favorite apps.
It also allows parents to customize a
list of websites that kids can visit, and review and approve the apps they can
download from Google Play such as YouTube Kids or Google Play Books. Parents
can also enjoy the power of hiding the individual apps when necessary and
manage in-app purchases within apps that are already installed on the
Chromebook and if necessary they can also make changes in the remotely locked
supervised accounts and can also manage the settings for their children Google
account.
